Following the death of my father during the 2020-2021 season, I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to go on a journey away from home and coach with future Hall of Fame candidate, Jeff Culver, as a member of the UCCS Men's Basketball Team. In my lone season with the Mountain Lions, our team was able to achieve a record of 21-9 (15-7 in RMAC play). This was the first 20 win season UCCS has seen in 7 seasons. The magic continued into the post season where our team was able to host a tournament game and make it to the RMAC semifinals, both for the first time in 7 seasons. Alijah Comithier was decorated with honors after the season earning First Team All-RMAC, NABC All-Region 1st Team, D2CCA All-South Central Region 2nd Team, and Two-time RMAC Offensive Player of the Week. Jon'il Fugett earned 2nd Team All-RMAC honors, as well.
Due to the financial limitations for my position, I had to work a few part-time jobs to make ends meet. One of those jobs being lucky enough to take care of dogs! I had a blast.
